the Humpty Dumpty Clock hung
on a wall and when the wall crumbled
it did not fall but just kept hanging on
to nothing at all just passing the time
the time of day swapped against
the time of night darkens not
Dark Times have different origins
origins are early forms of later
just kept hanging on where walls crumble
and the hands of some of the clocks
in suspension as they make their way
circular arguments adapted to oval dials
half the time growing half the time shrinking
half Humpty half Dumpty nothing like
half a tick and that can only be good
for what good is a dead tick what good
a live one for that matter ticks and clicks
tocks and clocks toxic cloxic time
I’m
out of it
