Through a triangle of Yucca, a stream flows

down into a camper size pool. Along the banks,

yuccas bloom between mountain lilacs.

She sits on top of the bank, dipping her feet

into the pool. Slowly she slides into the water

as if slipping into a mystical garment.

How happy she seems as she smiles,

bouncing until the water line encompasses

her hips. She looks nowhere and everywhere.

Taking a deep breath, she dives, vanishing

into another world. As she reappears and

disappears, she becomes an apparition.

Deciding to return to upper world, she walks

onto the rocks, and water runs down her legs

into the pool like threads returning to the loom.
