William Luvaas has published two novels, The Seductions of Natalie Bach (Little, Brown) and Going Under (Putnam), and a story collection, A Working Man’s Apocrypha (Oklahoma Univ. Press). He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Fiction. His story “Ashes Rain Down” won first place in Glimmer Train’s Winter ‘08 Fiction Open Contest, “Family Life” won The Ledge Magazine 2010 Fiction Awards Competition, and “Out There” won Honorable Mention in Carpe Articulum’s 2010 International Fiction Award Series.

William has published fifty stories in magazines and anthologies, including The American Fiction Anthology, American Literary Review, Antioch Review, Blackbird, Confrontation, Epiphany, Essays & Fictions Mag., Glimmer Train, Grain Mag., Main Street Rag, North American Review, Open Spaces, Paraspheres (anthology), Pretext 10 (anthology), Saranac Review, Short Story, Stand Magazine, The Sun, Thema, Vignette, and The Village Voice. He is currently working on a memoir: The Secret People: A Memoir of Living with Epilepsy. He is fiction editor for Cutthroat: A Journal of the Arts.
